Who can receive E-Rate funds?
The E-Rate program is designed to assist K-12 schools and libraries, including individual public and private individual schools, school districts,all public libraries and some private libraries.
How large are the discounts and how are they determined?
Two primary factors determine how much money is reimbursed: the level of poverty and urban/rural status of any given area. The percentage varies each year. Discounts range from 20 to 90 percent of the annual costs of eligible services.
How long does it take to obtain E-Rate funding?
Approval timelines vary. Approval usually comes 3-6 months after Form 471 is submitted.
What is a SPIN number?
SPIN is a Service Provider Identification Number that each approved E-Rate provider has. It is required on a majority of USAC forms. 8x8’s is 143034002.
