At 8x8, our product teams are always working on new ways to improve our customer experience through flexible and efficient features. With that being said, we are very excited to announce our latest app feature, Promote to Meeting. This new feature makes video conferencing easier than ever.

Promote to Meeting enables 8x8 users to seamlessly turn an active call into a full-blown video meeting at the touch of a button. This feature is compatible with both desktop and mobile apps. While on a call, simply click ‘Meet Now’ for an instant video conference experience. Once the Promote to Meeting feature is launched, users have the ability to invite up to 50 participants.

Our app also includes the following new features and updates:

  • The introduction of auto-away presence
  • Chat preview is now hidden from desktop notifications while in a meeting to maintain privacy
  • The flashing app icon is now in the taskbar to avoid missing notifications (Currently available for Windows users only)

Learn more about these new features by watching this brief video.

These new features are accessible by updating to the latest 6.6 desktop or 8.4 mobile version.

To stay up to date on all things 8x8, download our desktop and mobile apps on iOS and Android. Feel free to submit your feedback about the app or leave us a review in your preferential app store.
