8x8 Hits Milestone Subscriber Base With 20,000 Customers

8x8, Inc., a provider of communications solutions, has announced that its subscriber base has reached a new milestone. At the end of February 2010, the company’s subscriber base topped 20,000 business customers. For the quarter that ended in December,8x8’s ( News – Alert) average business customer subscribed to 7.3 paid services.
While the global market was in economic turmoil over the last year, 8x8 actually added roughly 1,000 new business customers each quarter. Small businesses continue to seek ways to reduce expenses and improve the efficiency of their operations and 8x8 often delivers on these expectations.To do so, the 8x8 Virtual Office phone service provides these customers with new, IP-enabled telephony capabilities along with advanced features and unlimited local and long distance calling at a much lower cost than traditional landline phone services.The 8x8 hosted Call Center and Key System services, SIP trunking and unified communications solutions enable employee connectivity from anywhere a high speed Internet connection exists.
8x8 is also celebrating that it has sold roughly 2,500 paid subscriptions to its new 8x8 Virtual Office Pro unified communications services as of the end of February. The company first launched this service on Jan. 20, 2010.An advanced messaging platform, the 8x8 Virtual Office Pro allows subscribers to manage essential business communications functions online through a centralized Web portal.This solution also helps to enhance business productivity by providing users with a complete, instantly accessible suite of communication tools used in everyday business interactions that include Web telephony, video and voice Web conferencing, fax, call recording, an online dashboard with Outlook contacts and corporate directory integration, an AppleiPhone ( News – Alert) and iPod Touch application for mobile access and more.
