Information Security Engineer

We are looking for an Information Security Engineer to join our team in Cluj. This is a hybrid role, with at least one day per week in the office.

We're a small global security team and we're looking for someone to grow with us. This is a senior role and you'll work alongside colleagues in the UK and Florida, with real ownership from day one — not a ticket queue, not someone else's backlog.

You'll work closely across time zones, so good written communication and solid async habits matter just as much as your technical skills.

What you'll actually be doing

• Owning our endpoint security platform (CrowdStrike Falcon) and vulnerability management programme — keeping sensors healthy, tracking what needs patching, and making sure it gets done
• Making sure our MSSP is delivering what we're paying them for — reviewing escalations with a critical eye and stepping in when something needs a closer look
• Tracking incidents through their full lifecycle, keeping records that make sense to a colleague picking things up 8 hours later in a different timezone
• Spotting false positive patterns and feeding insights back to improve MSSP tuning
• Handling phishing triage and IOC enrichment using standard tooling
• As you settle in, getting hands-on exposure to detection engineering, incident response, and M&A security work — not just observing

What we need from you

• Hands-on experience with an EDR platform — CrowdStrike is ideal, but we'll consider similar
• Familiarity with vulnerability scanning and remediation workflows
• Comfortable working with a SIEM (Exabeam, Splunk, Sentinel — we care more about how you think than which tool you've used)
• A solid grasp of TCP/IP, DNS, and how to read a log
• Scripting basics (Python or PowerShell) — you don't need to be a developer, but automation instincts matter
• Clear, concise writing — incident documentation on a distributed team really is a team sport
