This month, we caught up with the lovely Natasha Deen to hear her thoughts on all things channel, lockdown, and dining with celebs!

8x8: Can you give us a bit of background on yourself and what you do at 8x8?

Of course! I'm confident and determined with over 15 years’ experience in the telecommunications industry. My strengths lie in being laser-focused on delivering results, as well as people and client management. At 8x8, as Senior Channel Sales Ops Manager, I am responsible for supporting partners across a range of areas including programs, processes, and related technical issues.

8x8: What do you most love about your job?

It has to be the people - both at 8x8 and in the channel. I enjoy the variety and complexity of my role, as well as working with partners, to not only achieve their targets and goals but to often problem solve any bumps along the way. I’ll always strive to find a solution for them, no matter how long it takes!

8x8: What’s been the best thing about working from home during lockdown?

I’m incredibly grateful to be able to continue working and doing what I do best, from home! I love the fact I have a little more time with the family in the week, as I no longer have the work commute.

8x8: How do you think the channel is evolving - what trends are you seeing?

I’ve never seen the channel busier than it is now, and it looks set to continue as businesses switch their operations to a remote-first working model. It really is an exciting time to be working in the channel.

8x8: What's the next big thing in the cloud communications space?

Cloud communications is on an upwards trajectory, set to triple in the next 5 years. The pandemic has demonstrated that working from home can have a positive impact on worker productivity. I anticipate many businesses will now be looking at a more long-term cloud communications strategy to support this and future-proof their business.

8x8: What one characteristic do you need to work in the channel?

Relationship building. The channel is all about people, so being able to forge new and lasting relationships with partners is essential.

8x8: What’s something most people don’t know about you?

I’ve got a heart of gold :) and would go out of my way to help a stranger.

8x8: And finally, if you had to invite three famous people round for dinner, who would they be and why?

  • Tony Robbins; an inspiration to many - he helps me remain positive, focused, and fulfilled.
  • Oprah Winfrey; her motivational talks inspire me to dream big.
  • Matthew McConaughey; besides being a fantastic actor, he founded a charity close to my heart, ‘Just keep living foundation’, that helps educate children in life, fitness, and spirituality.
