- Additional charges apply to any calls that include non-geographic number types (e.g., select mobile, toll-free, premium rate, shared cost and special numbers) charged at the then-current rates specified using the 8x8 Rate Card Tool. See 8x8 Telephony Rates and Plans for more information around call charges and number types.
- Overage usage rates set in an Order may change from time to time.
- No charges will apply for calls that originate and terminate on the 8x8 VoIP network.
- 8x8 may pass through tolls or similar charges for outbound calls based on the user’s calling activity (e.g., calls to 900 numbers).
- Call Duration Calculation: 8x8 calculates call durations based on data it records in one-minute increments (rounding up partial minutes). If the charge for a call includes a fraction of the smallest unit of currency, 8x8 rounds it to the nearest whole unit. Unanswered outbound calls may still incur charges.
- 8x8 Data Storage Policy: Unless an Order specifies otherwise (e.g., for legacy storage configurations), 8x8 storage and retrieval Documentation is accessible via 8x8’s website. Please see storage types for additional information. You can access and configure both default and custom storage policies through the 8x8 Admin Console (see Configure the 8x8 storage policy). You must configure your hot or cold storage add-ons to make them effective. 8x8 only maintains purchased storage and stored data while you have an active account with 8x8.
- Fair Use: For any features or functionalities of the 8x8 Platform that are designated as unlimited (or unmetered), Customer Use must comply with reasonable business use thresholds (“Fair Use”) specified in an Order or the 8x8 Documentation. If unspecified, Fair Use means up to three times the average monthly use of that specific feature or functionality by all 8x8 customers. 8x8 reserves the right to enforce Fair Use as outlined in its Terms. Overages exceeding the Reasonable Business Use threshold will be billed at the applicable calling rates specified using the 8x8 Rate Card Tool.
Using 8x8 Rate Card Tool to Identify Applicable Call Rates and Services (step-by-step guidance)link to this section
- Launch the 8x8 Rate Card Tool.
- Scroll down that page to the Rate Card Configurator and click on that section to activate the 8x8 Rate Card Configurator.
- Within the Rate Card Configurator, you can search for a specific geography/region by using the embedded search bar functionality, or clicking on a specific region in the visual map (and then focusing on a desired destination).
- If you access your desired destination and select View Details, you can access pertinent information such as available services, products, resources, and applicable rates. Also note that you can use the Rate Card Configurator to build your own rate card combining desired regions.

Campaign Registration for Messaging (e.g., SMS)link to this section
SMS and MMS messaging must utilize HTTPS protocol and all use must comply with any rules and restrictions imposed, directly or indirectly, by carriers including campaign registration (where applicable). *The above listing of SKUs is non-exhaustive. The monthly allowance and overages apply to any non-CCaaS licenses where SMS is included in the subscription (e.g.,the UCaaS license for mixed licenses). Prices and applicable SKUs will be updated from time to time. SMS/MMS capability is made available in some (e.g., US/Canada) but not all geographic regions When available, new geographic regions and applicable pricing will be added to this page.
Monthly Allowance: When SMS/MMS messaging is included and available in your geographic region, you will receive a monthly aggregate SMS and MMS message pool equal to the number of applicable licenses times 50 (reflecting a total allowance of 50 outbound messages per license). Messages are measured in message segments as defined at the carrier-level (see 8x8 Support for further details). Each message segment a User sends to one recipient counts as one pooled message. For example, if a User sends an SMS message totaling 400 characters (or 2 SMS message segments) to another User, that will count as 2 pooled messages being sent. Unused messages will not roll over month-to-month. SMS and MMS messaging must utilize HTTPS protocol, and all use must comply with any rules and restrictions imposed, directly or indirectly, by carriers including campaign registration (where applicable). Unregistered SMS/MMS traffic is not supported.

The following table provides the per message rates applicable to SMS messaging for CCaaS licenses. For inbound SMS, the country is defined by the country location of an allocated 8x8 virtual number. For outbound SMS, the country is determined by the number prefix that an SMS message is being sent to from an allocated 8x8 virtual number.
