Vik Verma

Vik Verma - Chief Executive Officer

Vik Verma became Chief Executive Officer of 8x8 in September 2013. As a member of the 8x8 Board of Directors since January 2012, Verma was instrumental in working with management to define the Company’s strategic plan for continued profitable growth through global expansion and ongoing investment in innovative unified and mobile communications services.

From October 2008 – August 2013, Verma was President of Strategic Venture Development for Lockheed Martin. In that role, he successfully identified and executed opportunities for monetizing existing Lockheed Martin technologies and programs in new global commercial markets through collaborative technology incubators, intellectual property portfolio licensing and strategic partnerships with international corporations. From 2006-2008, he was the President of the IS&GS Savi Group, a Lockheed Martin technology and information services division providing real-time supply chain management and security solutions for government and commercial markets worldwide. Prior to that, he was Chairman of the Board and CEO of Savi Technology, Inc. (Savi), where he helped pioneer the Internet of Things (IoT) by using RFID tags to track cargo containers and their content globally via both public and private clouds. This technology was widely adopted and became the standard for major defense and commercial customers throughout the world. Savi was acquired by Lockheed Martin in 2006. 

Verma holds a B.S.E.E. degree from the Florida Institute of Technology, an M.S.E. degree from the University of Michigan in electrical engineering, and the graduate degree of Engineer in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University. He has been granted eight patents and has won numerous accolades, including the Tau Beta Pi - Williams Fellow award and recognition by the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland as a “Technology Pioneer.”

Bryan R. Martin

Bryan Martin

Bryan R. Martin is Chairman of the Board and Chief Technology Officer at 8x8. With over two decades of service to the Company, including 11 years as Chief Executive Officer, Martin has been a key figure in 8x8’s growth, leading the company from its early days as a VoIP pioneer to becoming the leading provider of Unified Communications as a Service solutions. Prior to being named CEO in 2002, he held the positions of Chief Operating Officer, Chief Technical Officer and Senior Vice President, Engineering Operations. He has been a member of 8x8's Board of Directors since 2001 and has served as Chairman of the Board since 2003.

Martin holds 45 United States Patents in the fields of semiconductors, computer architecture, video processing algorithms, videophones and communications. In November 2006, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger appointed him to the California Broadband Task Force for the Business, Transportation and Housing Agency and he later served as Chair of the task force's Emerging Technologies and New Applications Working Group. In 2006, he was named one of the "Top 100 Voices of IP Communications" by Internet Telephony magazine. In addition to his technical knowledge and expertise, Martin is well versed in industry and business affairs and has spoken before numerous trade, financial and regulatory organizations including the FCC, California Public Utilities Commission, California State Senate Energy, Utilities & Communications Committee, IEEE, National Emergency Number Association, Association of Police Communication Officials, TechNet, Supercomm, VON, United States Telecom Association and NGN. He is a member of the IEEE and Tau Beta Pi and received a B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.

Dan Weirich

Dan Weirich - President and Chief Financial Officer Dan Weirich is the Chief Financial Officer of 8x8, Inc. In his previous roles with 8x8 as President and Vice President of Operations, Weirich managed the day to day business operations of 8x8 and Virtual Office services delivery as well as sales and billing operations. Prior to joining 8x8, Weirich served as a business development, finance and operations consultant in the United States and Asia, managing acquisition and restructuring initiatives for a number of IT and telecommunications firms. As Vice President of Business Development and Vice President of Sales, Asia at iAsiaWorks, Inc., Weirich engineered a restart of the company and expanded its offerings to include Internet access, co-location and managed services across Asia and grew the company's operations to thirteen countries. Weirich also served as Manager in the Business Markets Group at Qwest Communications International, Inc. and as a Financial Analyst for Phoenix Networks, Inc.
Darren Hakeman

Darren Hakeman - Senior Vice President of Product & Strategy

Darren Hakeman is Senior Vice President of Product & Strategy. An accomplished senior executive skilled at formulating and executing strategies for market entry and growth across diverse technologies and products, Hakeman brings 20 years of management and operational experience to 8x8. From 2009 - 2013, Hakeman worked as a strategic advisor to leading Silicon Valley companies and emerging start-ups including Authentication Metrics, Inc. (now Agari), a cloud-based email security company serving the financial services industry and leading social media sites, Blackfire Research, a solution provider for seamless Wi-Fi streaming of audio and video content from mobile devices, and a major global security company where Hakeman developed global market entry and monetization strategies for multiple business units and led the launch of an Asia-based technology incubator. Prior to this, he served as Senior Vice President of Operations for a SaaS Business Unit of Lockheed Martin that emerged following Lockheed's acquisition of Savi Technology, Inc, a leading provider of RFID systems and solutions, in 2006. From 1993 through 2006, Hakeman served in various capacities at Savi Technology, from Sr. Director of Product Management, Marketing and Product Strategy to Senior Vice President of Global Services. He holds B.S.E.E. and M.S.E.E. degrees from Stanford University.

Huw Rees
Senior Vice President of Business Development
Huw Rees - Vice President of Business and Channel Development

Huw Rees serves as 8x8's Sr. Vice President of Business Development and was previously Chief Executive Officer of Centile, Inc., a former subsidiary of 8x8 where he led the development of the hosted PBX technology from 1999 to 2004. Rees was responsible for the change in 8x8's marketing and sales away from an OEM approach to a focus on end-users including both consumers and small businesses for hosted, cloud based communications services. He has been closely involved with telecommunications technology for over 25 years, beginning with Marconi PLC in 1985, where he opened and managed their Western US sales office. He has also held management roles with Plessey Inc., and with Mitel Corporation. Rees received a B.Sc. (Hons) from the University of Manchester, Institute of Science and Technology in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and an MBA from the University of LaVerne.

Mehdi Salour
Senior Vice President of Network Operations and Support
Mehdi Salour - Vice President of Network Operations

Mehdi Salour, Senior Vice President of Network Operations and Support, oversees 8x8's global network and data center operations, including 8x8's Network Operations Center (NOC) in San Jose, California which monitors the company's global network on a 24x7 basis. In this role, Salour also oversees 8x8's customer support and success organization and is responsible for the entire customer experience from the deployment of services to the ongoing service delivery.

Previously, Salour served as 8x8's Vice President of Network Operations, responsible for 8x8's global production network and quality assurance program, and Vice President of Service Delivery and Support, where he played an instrumental role in developing the Customer Relationship Management strategy while 8x8 was transitioning from an OEM technology company to a customer-centric service provider. Before that, he served 8x8 in various other positions including IT Network Engineer, Network Operations Engineer, Manager of Technical Support and Director of Technical Support.

Salour holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and an M.S. degree in Software Engineering with concentrations in networking software and security.

Ragh Sarathy

Ragh Sarathy - Vice President of Finance

Ragh Sarathy, Vice President of Finance, brings over 20 years of experience in the SaaS and enterprise software sectors to 8x8. Sarathy's career encompasses 10 years of equity research analysis and 12 years of software development, product management, and marketing experience. As vice president, senior research analyst within the Equity Capital Markets division at Dougherty & Company, Sarathy published research on 11 software companies and was ranked the number one analyst in the software sector by The Wall Street Journal's "Best on the Street" Analysts Survey, based on the performance of his stock recommendations. Before Dougherty & Company, he was senior equity analyst/vice president at Ferris Baker Watts where he built the firm's SaaS coverage from the ground up and covered 10 software companies. Prior to this, he held a variety of sales, marketing, product management and engineering roles with Oracle Corp. and several Silicon Valley software start-ups. Sarathy earned a Master's of Business Administration Degree with honors from the Leavey School of Business at Santa Clara University, and a Master's of Science Degree in Computer Science from University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa.

Chris Bartolo

Chris Bartolo, Vice President of Sales – Mid-Market/Distributed Enterprise, is responsible for the development, management, and growth of the company's sales to Mid-Market and to Distributed Enterprise Companies. He brings over 15 years of experience in sales and sales management, with a track record for recruiting, building and leading high-performing sales teams to drive revenue growth.

Before joining 8x8, Bartolo was Director of Sales at Contactual, a Leader in On-Demand Contact Center Solutions, where he led the early sales initiatives and growth of their North American sales organization. Contactual was acquired by 8x8 in 2009. He has also held sales leadership positions at iPass, Mirapoint, Fortinet, Qualys and CyberCash.

Kevin Scott-Cowell

Kevin Scott-Cowell - CEO, 8x8 Solutions UK

Kevin Scott-Cowell, CEO of 8x8 Solutions UK, manages 8x8’s activities in the UK and Europe and brings over 25 years of experience in the telecom sector.

Prior to joining the 8x8 team, Kevin was CEO of Voicenet Solutions Limited from 2010 up until the acquisition of the business by 8x8 in November 2013. During this time, he led the team that doubled the size of the business and positioned it as the leading independent provider of hosted communications services in the UK, being recognised by Deloitte in their Technology Fast 500 EMEA awards.

His previous industry experience covered the management of high volume endpoint manufacturing operations at BT and Nortel, the build and rollout of mobile networks in the UK with Ericsson, and the development of support services covering IT, mobile handsets and cable and satellite TV at AIM listed CRC Group PLC. He has also held a number of other director level positions at GEC Marconi and Tyco International. Kevin has a Degree in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from the University of Bradford, an MBA from Cardiff University, is and is a chartered engineer.

Debbie Jo Severin

Debbie Jo Severin - Chief Marketing Officer

Debbie Jo Severin, Vice President of Marketing, is responsible for 8x8's marketing strategies and operations, driving awareness and adoption of the company's business Internet protocol (IP) communications solutions through customer acquisition and retention initiatives including brand management, demand generation, direct and online marketing, advertising, promotions, marketing communications and public relations.

Severin brings over 20 years of marketing experience to 8x8 and was most recently Vice President of Marketing at Covad Communications, the first company to commercially deploy DSL technology in the United States. Severin managed Covad's national go-to-market plan for direct sales of the company's VoIP and data services and helped grow that business to more than $178 million of revenue at the end of 2007. Prior to Covad, Severin served as Vice President of Marketing at Valiant Networks and NorthPoint Communications, as Vice President of Marketing & Sales at Pacific Bell start-up PrimeOne Tele-TV, and as Executive Director of Marketing & Sales at Pacific Bell Video Services. She received a Masters Degree in Mathematics and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Alabama, Birmingham.

Don Trimble
Vice President of Channel Sales
Don Trimble - Vice President of Channel Sales

Don Trimble, Vice President of Channel Sales, is responsible for the development and management of all aspects of the company's third party channel operations. Trimble brings more than 25 years of experience to 8x8, achieving revenue, profit, and business growth objectives for some of the largest IT companies in the world. Most recently, he served as Vice President, North American Channel Sales at NComputing where he developed and managed a channel initiative to drive sales through distributors, direct/indirect resellers and systems integrators.

Previously, he served as Director, Americas Channel Sales at Hewlett Packard, where he managed the channel sales team for the company's ProCurve Networking division, and as Vice President, North American Channel Sales at Polycom, responsible for designing, developing, and executing a comprehensive channel strategy. Prior to that, Trimble served as Director, Channel Operations for Cisco Systems, where he earned recognition as Cisco's #1 U.S. Channel Operation in 2001, and as District Manager for 3Com Corporation. Trimble holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of Vermont.
