Loyalty/Customer Retention Marketing Manager
Job Description:
We're seeking an experienced candidate for the role of Loyalty/Customer Retention Marketing Manager. This is a new position and will report the CMO/VP of Marketing and will be located in Santa Clara, CA.
The position will manage our customer loyalty program, including overall strategy and execution of life cycle marketing initiatives for our business customers. The successful candidate will have ownership of customer lifetime value, and the mix of marketing and operational programs required to realize that value. He/She will manage all aspects of the customer engagement, beginning at order placement and continuing for the duration of each customer’s service relationship with 8x8. The goal is to drive revenue from building loyalty among our customers as well as increasing customer satisfaction.
Core Responsibilities:
- Develop actionable customer groups/profiles and effective contact strategies to maximize net-adds/minimize churn at vulnerable points of the service lifecycle, while overseeing execution of campaigns. Must be knowledgeable in all aspects of direct marketing, with particular expertise in email marketing.
- Develop and deliver highly targeted upsell, cross-sell, loyalty, and retention programs, as well as coordinating efforts across functional groups to deliver the optimal customer experience.
- Develop systematic event triggered marketing plans using available media channels (email, online, telemarketing, direct mail).
- Drive CRM infrastructure requirements with cross-functional team to ensure we have the tools to make smart customer decisions and deploy effective programs.
- Work with Product Management on go-to-market requirements for new services or features to define easy service upgrades and cross technology migrations.
- Work with Customer Operations to further enhance customer interactions to increase customer satisfaction.
- Partner with the Marcom team to develop compelling copy, design, and layout for customer retention efforts across all media.
- Plan and implement social marketing campaigns, including advocacy initiatives, community-building efforts and promotions to enhance brand awareness and build our customer fan base; Listen to and monitor all social media outlets; pages, sites, blogs, etc. on a regular basis and post/respond on particular topics or in response to other posts/comments.
- Work with the Marketing Analyst to analyze, monitor, and communicate performance of retention initiatives to business stakeholder.
- Stay informed on industry trends and best practices in loyalty marketing and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree required in a related field.
- 5-7 years direct marketing in offline and online environments; experience with segmentation, test design and program evaluation.
- Knowledge of emarketing; implementing and optimizing email campaigns, working close with design, marketing and product teams.
- Experience with Newsletters and transactional emails; experience in social media marketing beneficial.
- Must have strong project management skills with an ability to lead cross functional teams toward developing process and procedures to improve the overall customer experience..
- Desire to work in a fast-paced, small-team environment.
- Able to act with a high degree of confidence, even in ambiguous situations.
- Experience with the realities of the service technology environment while working hand-in-hand with Customer Support and Product Management.

You must be comfortable with making numerous outbound calls daily, responding to RFPs and writing concise, accurate responses in consultation with other departments inside 8x8. Responsibilities:
- Working in a fast-paced, innovative environment you will be empowered to sell business communications solutions and related services to prospective customers. Prospective customers are mid-size businesses and divisions of large companies.
- Manage sales through prospecting, lead qualification, forecasting, resource allocation, account strategy, and planning.
- Develop written, complex solution proposals encompassing all aspects of the 8x8 business communications solutions.
- Participate in the creation, presentation and sale of a complete value proposition via the telephone, Internet, and customer meetings.
Requirements:
- The ideal candidate must have a university degree/college diploma or equivalent work experience.
- A minimum of 5 years inside or outside sales experience in Communications, Software, Hardware, or Business Services to end-users. Existing relationships with executives at Fortune 5000 business would be a plus.
- A proven ability to develop and present complex written proposals to C level executives.
- A strong understanding of communications solutions in a sales capacity is essential, as well as the ability to negotiate pricing and contractual terms to close a sale.
- Candidates must be results-driven with proven ability to sell and project a positive, professional attitude.
- The candidate must be able to effectively communicate in English with internal and external clients through all available mediums.
